Research Expertise

My research uses theoretical and empirical approaches to identify and explain phenomena in deep learning and sparse & low rank signal processing. The goal of my research is to understand how deep learning identifies structure in high dimensional data. I also aim to use this principled understanding to power applications across domains like signal processing, computer vision, biomedical engineering, and computational neuroscience.
