CAHSI–Google Institutional Research Program (IRP): Building AI Capacity
The CAHSI‑Google IRP funds collaborative, AI research teams pairing a CAHSI doctoral‑granting institution with a non‑doctoral CAHSI institution—each involving faculty and domestic students. Projects receive funding and may include Google Cloud Platform credits. The IRP uses an ideation plus NSF‑style review process to cultivate competitive proposals and durable research partnerships.

CAHSI Ideation Workshops
CAHSI convenes an annual Ideation Workshop at the annual CAHSI Summit, co-located with Great Minds in STEM (GMiS), to build capacity in AI research. The initiative, based on the CAHSI-Google Institutional Research Plan model, includes providing critical review of research abstracts proposed by interdisciplinary research teams to respond to relevant AI solicitations and opportunities.
