Nikita Soni is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Computer Science at the University of Illinois Chicago (UIC). Her research interests include Human-Computer Interaction, Interaction Design, Child-Computer Interaction, and Computer-Supported Collaborative Work. In her research, Nikita investigates how to design interactive experiences with learning and creativity technologies by investigating how children and adults naturally interact with novel and existing technologies, then leveraging this understanding to create effective and intuitive interfaces. Nikita's work has received recognition and honorable mention in the research community at one of the top HCI conferences (Computer Supported Collaborative Work) and has led to the development of multiple actionable interaction design guidelines for children's application designers and practitioners.
