Hossein Shirazi

Assistant Professor, San Diego State University

Dr. Shirazi is an Assistant Professor of Management Information Systems (MIS) at Fowler College of Business at San Diego State University. He obtained a Ph.D. in Computer Science from Colorado State University under the supervision of Prof. Indrakshi Ray, where he got his M.S. degree. He received another M.S from IAU and a B.S. in Computer Engineering from Kashan University in Iran. Prior to moving to the US, he worked in tech companies for 8 years.

His research focuses on machine learning and cyber-security, which he has applied to several cyber-security problems including social engineering attacks, security of heavy vehicles, and security of IoT devices and networks. He teaches core and elective MIS courses such as Business Applications Programming and Object-Oriented Programming for Business Applications.
