Dr. Xinrui Cui is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Computer Science and Engineering at the University of North Texas. Prior to this role, he completed his postdoctoral fellowship at the University of British Columbia, where he also earned his Ph.D. in Electrical and Computer Engineering in 2020. His research focuses on explainable AI, generative models, and neural rendering.
Dr. Cui's work centers on enhancing AI model trustworthiness and effectiveness through three key approaches: understanding internal neural representations, developing more expressive neural representations to improve model performance, and creating compact neural representations for diverse applications. His research aims to establish foundational tools and techniques for building AI models that are not only more reliable and expressive but also trustworthy and efficient. These advances are critical for the successful deployment of AI systems in real-world scenarios where both performance and trustworthiness are essential.
