Qian Wang is an assistant professor in the Department of Electrical Engineering at the University of California, Merced. Prior to her academic appointment, she was a research scientist at Intel Labs. She earned her Ph.D. in Computer Engineering from the University of Maryland, College Park. Her research focuses on advancing hardware security, with a particular emphasis on mitigating vulnerabilities and designing robust protection systems that ensure resilience. Her work spans a diverse range of topics, including post-quantum cryptography and hardware-intrinsic security primitives (e.g.,PUFs, NTT and FHE), security for quantum computing system, machine learning system security and analysis, and the development of secure cyber-physical systems, including those used in autonomous driving technologies.
