Research Expertise

Kenny's main research areas are natural language processing and knowledge engineering, and his current interests are Animal Language Processing, NLP for mental health, and light-weight NLP. He has published extensively in NLP and AI venues such as ACL, EMNLP, NAACL, SIGMOD, AAAI, and IJCAI, and has served as the SPC or PC of these venues, too. His research has been supported by NSF, NSF China, MOE China, Microsoft, Google, Oracle, Morgan Stanley and AstraZeneca. Kenny is the winner of the 2013 Google Faculty Research Award and 2014 DASFAA Best Paper Award.
