Research Expertise

Guoning Chen is an Associate Professor at the Department of Computer Science at the University of Houston. He is the founder of the Data Visualization and Modeling (DaViM) Lab. He earned his Ph.D. degree in Computer Science from Oregon State University in 2009. Before joining UH, he is a post-doc research fellow at the Scientific Computing and Imaging (SCI) Institute at the University of Utah. His research interests include visualization, data analytics, computational topology, geometric modeling, geometry processing and physically-based simulation. He is the recipient of an NSF CAREER Award. He is a member of ACM and IEEE.
