Research Expertise

Dr. Elliot Hu-Au is an Assistant Professor of Computer Science Education, jointly appointed in the School of Computing and the Department of Teaching and Learning. His area of expertise is broadly in Human-Computer Interactions and specifically in the design and development of extended reality (XR) learning experiences. He has over a decade of teaching experience at the high school, college, and graduate levels, including a past teaching position at Rikers Island. He has also independently developed and published the VR Chemistry Lab, a virtual reality laboratory and molecular world simulation for the Meta Quest. Current research interests are in analyzing abstract STEM knowledge growth through immersive XR world-building experiences.
