Research Expertise

Ashraf Aboulnaga is a professor of computer science at the University of Texas at Arlington. His research is in the area of databases, with a current focus on cloud database systems and graph analytics. Ashraf obtained M.S. and Ph.D. degrees from the University of Wisconsin - Madison, and B.S. and M.S. degrees from Alexandria University, all in computer science. Before joining UTA, he was the Chief Scientist of the Qatar Computing Research Institute, an Associate Professor at the University of Waterloo, and a Research Staff Member at the IBM Almaden Research Center. Ashraf has received a Google Research Award, the Ontario Early Researcher Award, and Best Paper Awards at the VLDB 2011 and SoCC 2015 conferences. He has served on numerous program committees of major conferences and the editorial boards of top database journals. He is an ACM Distinguished Scientist and an IEEE Senior Member.
