CAHSI Allyship Program

The CAHSI Allyship Program is designed to uplift and support undergraduate students in computing by fostering meaningful peer connections. If you are currently taking fundamental courses, you will be paired with a fellow student – an Ally – who has successfully completed the data structures course and is excited to help you thrive.

Together, Protégés and Allies join monthly cohort meetings led by CAHSI faculty and staff, where you will grow professionally, share experiences, and build lasting connections. Throughout the academic year, pairs meet regularly.

This program is funded by Reboot Representation and is open to undergraduate students at:

    • The University of Texas at El Paso (UTEP)
    • The University of Puerto Rico Mayaguez (UPRM)
    • New Mexico State University (NMSU)

Who can Participate?

Protégés

  • Undergraduate students in computing-related majors
  • Currently enrolled in computing fundamentals courses
  • Looking for guidance, growth, and connection
 

Allies: 

  • Undergraduate students who have completed data structures in computing-related majors
  • Passionate about computing and helping others succeed
  • Serve as role models and active listeners
 

Expectations: 

  • Monthly 1-hour professional development cohort meetings
  • Bi-weekly 30 minute check-ins between Allies and Protégés
 

Returning participants are welcome!
