Title: Professor
My research expertise and areas include Intelligent Sensing, Machine Learning, and Artificial Intelligence (AI) in Cyber-Physical System. Currently my research is focusing on the following two directions: 1) Data fusion enhanced human sensing with intelligent wireless sensors and deep learning technologies. This research aims to design and develop wireless sensor-based light-weight, low-cost, and efficient methods to acquire both physical and physiological information of humans which includes, but not limited to gestures, postures, walking gait, breath, heart rate, etc. This information can be utilized to analyze the conditions and bioinformatics of humans. The results are useful in a broad of applications such as healthcare, sport, gaming, surveillance, smart house, etc.; 2) AI inspired intelligent and automatic systems development for healthcare applications. This research aims to integrate sensing, pattern recognition and AI technologies to develop autonomous healthcare systems that can provide diagnosis, analysis, recognition, evaluation, and planning services. With the application of large language models (LLM) in such systems, users themselves can directly interact with the system to start treatment, and the system is able to operate accordingly and automatically without any human involvement. This kind of intelligent system will be very useful and popular in tele-health and unmanned therapy especially in rehabilitation, training, and assistive living fields.
