Dr. Jiayi Meng is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Computer Science and Engineering at the University of Texas at Arlington (UT Arlington). He is also the Director of the Immersive Efficient Computing and Communication (IMEC^2) lab.
The IMEC^2 lab at UT Arlington is dedicated to developing efficient technologies for future immersive computing and communication. Specifically, they have been focusing on mobile systems and networks, including virtual, augmented, and mixed reality (VR, AR, and MR), digital twins, etc., over 4G/5G and beyond. Their overarching mission is to enable technologies for mobile systems and networks in another decade, bridging the gap between the ever-increasing resource demands of mobile apps and limited hardware capability of mobile devices and extending beyond form factors of those devices such as VR/AR/MR headsets/glasses.
