Subash Pakhrin

Assistant Professor, University of Houston Downtown

Dr. Pakhrin is an assistant professor in Computer Science and Engineering Technology department at the University of Houston-Downtown. His research interests include the detection of various post-translational modifications in proteins using different natural language processing techniques like transformer-based protein language models. He has been doing extensive research on natural language processing (NLP) and has been applying different techniques like embedding and encoding the amino acid sequences with biochemical properties. His interests are in exploring different biological datasets and inferring valuable information from those using different NLP, Machine, and Deep learning techniques. Currently, he is looking forward to developing a large language model (LLM) that provides factual responses to a variety of questions asked by the inquirer.
