Dr. Eliana Valenzuela-Andrade is a computing educator and researcher whose work bridges technical innovation with inclusive educational practices. Her research focuses on database systems, data mining, and robotics—particularly educational and swarm robotics—as platforms to enhance engagement with computer science from K–12 through undergraduate levels. With over a decade of experience, she develops and studies interactive tools such as visual programming environments and robotics kits to motivate early exploration of computing among underrepresented students.
Dr. Valenzuela-Andrade also investigates strategies for broadening participation in STEM through outreach, mentoring, and culturally responsive pedagogy. She is actively involved in community and national initiatives including as CAHSI.
